Fans breathe a sigh of relief as Chelsea narrowly beat Brentford in thrilling encounter - Chelsea bounce back with win against spirited Brentford team

 Chelsea equalised in the 14th minute through a fine team goal. Reece James picked out Timo Werner in space and the German laid theball off to Christian Pulisic, who played a quick one-two with Kai Havertz before finishing calmly past Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.


Brentford continued to probe and created several opportunities to retake the lead, with Marcus Forss comingclose on a couple of occasions. However, they were unable to convert their chances, and Chelsea broke through once again in the 81st minute.


Substitute Ross Barkley played a brilliant through-ball to Cesar Azpilicueta, who cut back for Barkley to slot home Chelsea's second goal. Brentford tried to mount a late comeback, but Chelsea held on for the win.


With this victory, Chelsea advances to the fifth round of the FA Cup, where they will face the winner of the Barnsley vs Norwich City matchup.


For Brentford, the loss is a disappointment, but they can still be proud of their efforts against a Premier League opponent. They will now turn their attention back to the Championship, where they currently sit fourth in the table and are in the mix for promotion to the Premier League.
